A collection inspired by the 150 years of the Unification of Italy.
Percossi Papi jewels interpret an era.
Jewels have always been an expression of their wearer’s personality and 19th century ladies used them as a fantastic political symbol with which to manifest their adhesion to the idea of the Unity of Italy.
The “Tricolour” worn by these ladies could be a small bunch of flowers, a braid of ribbons…a jewel.
A graceful butterfly, symbolic of rebirth and luminous flight, seemed to me to be the most adequate jewel to represent the 150 years since the Unity of Italy.
The “Unità d’Italia” collection not only celebrates the Italian tricolour but also the battles and their trophies, the various coat of arms belonging to the States of a pre-risorgimento Italy which would later change forever, the seizure of Porta Pia in Rome, Italian literature and the city of Lucca, inspirer and host to our collection, amidst history and fantasy.
